Dartford Rail Travellers’ Association (DRTA) has the goal of representing the interests of commuters and leisure rail travellers using the seven stations located within the borough of Dartford – namely: Dartford, Stone Crossing, Greenhithe for Bluewater, Swanscombe, Ebbsfleet International, Longfield and Farningham Road.
While our primary focus is at present on the 3 lines that converge on Dartford, in the light of the extensive changes and disruptions over the next three years on this route, our stated goal means that we also campaign for improvements to the South East Main Lines from Victoria through to the Medway Valley and beyond, HS1 (“Javelin”) services, and for improvements to Southeastern services more generally. For that reason we work in alliance with other rail users’ groups within Kent.
We lobby railway management, regulators and planners.
We press for rail travellers’ interests on a wide range of local concerns such as –
- timetabling and performance
- ticket machines
- car and cycle parking
- other station facilities.
We will also be making representations on wider strategic issues affecting the local and regional rail network.
